Post-doc - Learning Sciences and Technologies Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

The Scientific Inquiry Research Group (http://slinq.org), a research group headed up by Dr. Janice Gobert in the Learning Sciences and Technologies in the Learning Sciences and Technologies Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, is looking for a post-doctoral researcher, who will assist in all aspects of development and research associated with Inq-ITS (Inquiry Intelligent Tutoring System), a science intelligent tutoring system/digital assessment environment. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and/or Science Education and have strong leadership skills.

This position is externally funded and continuation is contingent upon continued funding

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are to assist the Project head in the following tasks:
- Design tasks, items, and materials for research purposes.
- Oversee and conduct research studies to test the effectiveness of the web- based learning system.
- Assisting in the writing of manuscripts for publication, annual grant reports, and grant proposals.
- Project management tasks, including teacher liaison-related tasks.
- Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have doctoral degree in Learning Sciences, Science Education, Computer Science or a related field.
- Excellent communication and management skills are essential in order to provide leadership to the research group.
- Strong time management skills are necessary to allow for simultaneous handling many concurrent projects and issues.
